Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
WHAT IS SILK SCREENING OR SCREEN PRINTING?
This refers to the process of "burning" a screen with a desired layout, adding plastisol ink and pushing it through the screen onto a t-shirt, etc. and finally sending it through a dryer to "cure".
WHAT IS A CUSTOM HEAT TRANSFER?
This is a heat applied transfer or "decal" that looks like screen printing but can only be applied to white, light gray, natural or other light color t-shirts, hats, etc.  It has a bit of a stiff feel when first applied, but softens with wear and washing.  Garment care: cool wash and cool dryer.
  DO YOU DELIVER?
YES and NO!  The answer is on an order by order basis.  If we can deliver, it's by our own personnel.  Depending upon the size of the order and delivery location, there is either No Charge or a nominal charge.  We DO NOT make arrangements for outside messenger services (but you can of course).
  WHAT ABOUT SHIPPING?
We ship to anywhere in the US and many countries Internationally. Shipping takes 8-15 days for all orders in the US and an additional 7-10 days to International destintations.
WHY DOES IT TAKE 8-15 DAYS FOR SHIPPING?
Because we offer so many shirts in so many styles, colors and sizes we cannot keep stock on everything we have. We manufacture our shirts frequently, but the process of getting your order, screenprinting the shirts, packaging...then shipping to your door, takes 8-15 days.

HOW MUCH DOES SHIPPING COST?
USA: $5.95 for the first shirt and varying amounts for additional shirts depending upon what your zip code is and the weight of your order (USPS priority mail has changed their entire pricing scheme and the pricing depends upon what zone your city falls in).

Canada/International: Varying prices depending upon what zone you are in according to the USPS Letter Post zoning chart. Calculations are made in the shopping cart when ordering based on total weight of order.

To calculate your total cost, you'll have to proceed through the shopping cart (to the page before you enter your credit card details). Choose the shirts you would like and enter your shipping info and you will see the total for shipping and the shirts combined before you are actually charged.

CAN I GET JUST ONE SHIRT, OR HAT, ETC., CUSTOM MADE?
NO! - We do not print just one item. We deal in large quantities only. Minimum order is 72 pieces. The more you order the more you save. Pricing varies, of course.
HOW LONG DOES SOMETHING TAKE TO GET DONE?
Turnaround time varies with the nature of the order and the time of year.  In most cases, almost any job from 72 pieces on up can be completed from five to 12 working days.
HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?
Orders can be placed in person at our office @ 120 Lake Blvd. East Redding, CA 96003 or by e-mail or fax.  Or simply call toll-free 1-888-644-1300 to talk with one of our sale representatives.
  Frequently Asked Questions About Artwork
  WHAT IS A RASTER FILE?
In raster files, like the familiar .GIF and .JPG, the information is stored pixel by pixel. Usually resulting in heavy or large file size. You can down size raster files with ease. It is not recommended that raster files be up sized. When raster files are sized up or enlarged, image quality become soft or blurry. Not sharp. Unlike Vector. Raster files are created by programs like Adobe Photoshop (industry standard).
  WHAT IS A VECTOR FILE?
Vector files are smaller file sizes for most graphics. Primarily because the information is created and stored mathematically. They are also very easy to edit, reshape and change color, since each object can be treated separately. Vector files can also be sized up or enlarged by a factor of hundreds and still keep the same image quality. Vector files are created by programs like Adobe Illustrator (industry standard), Or if you must... Corel Draw, or Macromedia Freehand.

  IS THERE A CHARGE?
Yes @ $75.00 per hour.
CAN I SEE WHAT MY DESIGN WILL LOOK LIKE BEFORE IT'S PRINTED?
Yes you sure can.  Almost all layouts are faxed or e-mailed for review and approval.  For the most part, no order can be printed unless we have a signed off version of the art, approving layout, spelling, size of design, etc.
CAN I HAVE ONE SAMPLE MADE BEFORE THE FULL RUN IS PRINTED?
Yes.  On larger or more complicated runs, a sample proof is possible.  There is usually a charge for this service.  Minimum $25.00.
CAN I BRING IN MY OWN SHIRTS OR HATS OR...?
Yes you can.  Printing or embroidery on clients items in most cases presents no problem.  However, Racing T-Shirts Unlimited Inc. does not guarantee how something will come out.  Furthermore, Racing T-Shirts Unlimited Inc. accepts NO responsibility in the event of error or dissatisfaction of any kind with regards to replacement or refund.  With 7 years experience, the chances of error are very slim.
DO YOU "KEEP" THE SCREENS OR ARTWORK ON FILE?
Yes on the artwork, generally not on the screens.
We keep a hard copy and a computer back up of all artwork.  Re-orders next week or next year are no problem.  New screens will be "burned" when your re-order is placed - usually at no charge.
  WHO OWNS THE SCREENS?
T-Shirts Unlimited owns the screens. When screens are "burned" the customer is paying a screen usage charge. The customer is not paying to purchase the screens, but instead, a rental and labor charge for the preparation and usage of the screens.
